  1. Sometimes I decide by books I've had for a long time but never read, or if I have multiple books

  2. Sometimes I have doubles of books or sometimes the book is not one of my favorites; so I give it away in hopes that it will be someone else's favorite. ;)

  3. I usually decide by if I have read them and loved them or if I only read them once and put them on the shelf and never picked them up again. Thanks for the great giveaway!! :D

  4. "How do you decide what books to get rid of when you clear your bookshelf?" I try to keep only the most beautiful, mint-condition books, even after I've read them.

  5. The books that I haven't read in a long time or did not feel the need to reread, are the ones I get rid of.

  6. When I decide what to get rid of: First is books I have read but doubt I will ever re-read. Then is books I haven't read and re-evaluation the iffy ones. I have so many books and always want more but only have so much space.

  7. If I think I won't reread them ever, then they go. I actually very rarely reread completed series so I usually just keep my favorites

  8. Whether or not I'll ever read them again, or continue the series.

  9. Usually I decide to get rid of books I didn't enjoy or never finished reading. Or books that have been sitting on my shelf for years and I know that I probably won't ever read.

  12. I usually pass a book along after I've read it. I don't usually read a book more than once.

  14. I will only give away duplicates of books I like. I keep a copy in both paperback and hardback of all books by authors whose works I collect. Books I am positive I will never want to read again I'll also give away. Of course, my daughter will often decide she might like these, and she'll take them, or I'll put them aside for her to read "later," if they are too mature for her to read immediately (she's only 13). As you can see, I'm a major book collector (never a hoarder..). :)

  15. I haven't gotten rid of any except for duplicates. But I think if I were to, it would be because I didn't care for the story.

  16. If I've had it for a long time & haven't read it or want to reread it, then it goes.
